Printing Your Corjl Template at Home

Printing your own labels at home can work out to be a lot cheaper than ordering them online.  But it can also take a little bit of learning to get right.

If you are looking for a quick and easy way to get it right at home, follow these steps.

Take a deep breath… And here we go!

Buying Your Labels

There are a few places you can purchase labels online, but first it is really important to know WHAT SIZE label you will need.

Write down the label sizes you need.  This will be the size of the design you created earlier.

Now hop online and let’s find some labels.

Here are two options that are good value.

AVERY LABELS  -  www.avery.com

ONLINE LABELS  -  www.onlinelabels.com

Find Your Labels

Both Avery & Online Labels have a very comprehensive selection of blank label sizes.  This is great for us, because we have a lot of choice.

Find your label sizes by running a search on their respective websites.

When choosing your labels, don’t be fooled by what ‘looks’ correct.  Always use the dimensions of your design to make your final choice.  All the options will be clearly labelled with the sizes.

Downloading the label printing template

Using Online Labels or Avery comes with the added benefit of being able to download a printing template.  This way we can drop our design directly into the template and print.

The downloadable templates will be located on the product listing page.

When downloading your template, I recommend using the Microsoft Word template.  Particularly if you are not super tech savvy and don’t have a lot of editing software on your computer! Don’t be a hero… even I use Microsoft Word template.  It is easier.

Add your design to your printing template

Open your new Microsoft Word Printing Template.

Double Tap on one of the templates on the page.

This will bring up ‘Shape Format’ in the header menu.

And a Format Shape panel will appear.

Select ‘Picture of Texture Fill’

A preselected Image will appear.

Select ‘Insert…’

This will open a pop up menu allowing you to choose your design.

Locate it in your saved items and select ‘Insert’.

Or your design dropped in the wrong way around?

Print Your Template

Use the same method to fill in the other templates.

Do not copy and paste the templates over as they will move on the page and mess up your printing.

Once complete select > File > Print…

A pop up window will appear showing you your print preview.

Select your printer

Click ‘Print’

Before you print on your new labels, I recommend printing on a plain A4 sheet of paper to be sure it all looks correct.  Once you are happy, load your new labels into the printer and off you go!

And your new labels should come popping out of your printer.

Don’t worry if you don’t get it right first time. Everything takes practise before you get it perfect. And soon enough you will be an expert.

Expect a few errors the first time and you will be cruising soon enough! Goodluck.
